Dubai: The public transport services of Dubai beat the 14
other made cities around the globe, achieving higher ranking, according to a scientific
study commissioned by Simon-Kucher and Partners Co, which reviewed transport
features like quality, safety, durability, speed, luxury, cleanliness and
on-time ventures.
Dubai mass transit systems emerged a winner in terms of the
accessibility of traveler data and advanced technologies, for example, smart
applications empowering public transport users to preplan their trips keeping
in mind the end goal to get to their particular destinations in easily,
securely and rapidly, The National reported.
Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive
Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), reportedly said the study
proved Dubai to be better over metropolitan cities, some of which began
building up their public transport systems more than a century back.
"The massive investments made by the Dubai Government
in the transport infrastructure have been fruitful and successful. The
expanding development of public transport is confirmation of the advancement of
the way of life and mentality towards utilizing public transport by different
range of the group," he allegedly said.
The RTA, he included, has made brisk and strong strides
towards satisfying the goals it set since inception, in particular, giving an
incorporated streets and transport system that guarantees smooth traffic flow,
highest safety levels to all users, and understanding the multi-modular
integration of public transport in the Emirate of Dubai, Gulf News reported.
